Announcement and Final Post

It’s all done folks.  The Denver Beer Hunter’s Report is no more. This is the end. Fin and good bye.

But wait…

It’s NOT all over.

The Beer Hunter’s Report is moving.  Moving to a better place.  I’m joining the ranks of Brewtally Insane!  The Beer Hunter’s Report will live on in the Weekend Beer Buzz!  I’ll also be expanding my writing efforts in the form of event write-ups, beer news, brewery pre- and re-views, etc.

Here’s the official announcement.  Please join me in this new adventure and if you don’t already read Brewtally Insane (you should be…what’s wrong with you?), then do it now!

Denver Beer Hunter’s Report – 05/09/2014

Here’s this week’s report:

I got to be honest…I’m starting to lose the drive to continue doing the Beer Hunter’s Report.  The past few weeks, I’ve been dreading doing the research, writing the blog post and updating it.  This might not last much longer folks. Apologies, but all good things must come to an end.  It’s not over yet…but maybe soon. Very soon.  I’m willing to pass this blog on if anyone is interested…

  • I just saw Firestone Walker Stickee Monkee on one local FB page…I’ve never seen it in Denver before. New to us?  Weird things is, even FW says it’s not going out until May 17th….
  • AC Golden Kriek might hit this week. *Might* did hitted this week.
  • In the “What The Fuck” department, DC Brau has been spotted in Denver. Specifically, Penn Quarter Robust Porter. WTF?!?!?!
  • By now, everyone has heard about the bonkers Cantillon delivery to release at one of the local stores.  The questions is, will there be more? Nope.  This was not a delivery, this was a release.

Look for more updates throughout the week (if there are any more to report).  Please share any Denver area beer release news you might have either in the comments or on Twitter @ssteigerwald.

I don’t usually post events here (except during GABF), but at special request I will.  Here’s one happening this week, http://amberwavesevent.com.  Art and beer, with some great breweries pouring.

  • Brace yourselves, CBC is coming. And the beers coming out this week will be nothing short of amazing…GREAT beer hunting week. Note that although there will be some great bottle releases, most of your beer hunting should come from the local taps.  Check out Brewtally Insane’s CBC Calendar for tons of info.
    • The releases are rolling in:
      • Drie Fonteinen Golden Doesjel
      • Fantôme Brewery Artist No. 1
      • Birra Toccalmatto/Prairie Okie Matilde
      • Evil Twin Brewing Imperial Biscotti Break, Bourbon Barrel Imperial Biscotti Break, Imperial Doughnut Break, Double Barrel Jesus, Table Beer, Falco IPA, Ryan and the Beaster Bunny Farmhouse Ale, and Low Life Pilsner, Ryan and the Gosling (collab with Crooked Stave)

  • Between The Staves, a collaboration between Crooked Stave and Anchorage, is being released at the Crooked Stave tap room on Tuesday, 4/8, @ 6PM. $17, 2 bottle limit. Not sure if it will hit store shelves. Hitting shelves now.
  • Colorado Barrel Collective Installment No. 1 should hit this week; a barrel aged old ale that is a  collaboration between Bull & Bush, Mile High Wine & Spirits and Grapevine Wine & Liquors.  Yep.
  • Oskar Blues 2014 CBC Commemorative Centennial Pale Ale.  Brewed just for the CBC attendees, you might be able to find cans at select locations as well (mostly at local bars, like Falling Rock, Star Bar, Frechcraft, etc). Store shelves is probably a no.  Also keep an eye out for Old Chub Nitro cans, which will hit stores.

I’m out of town in CA this week, so either no report or the report will be late. Sorry about no report 2 weeks in a row, here’s a picture of my California Beer haul to tide you over.
